My husband, Danny, and I met when he was thirteen and I was nine so I have known him most of my life. We started dating a few years later and married in 1960. We have been married for 45 years. We have three children and five grandchildren. Danny and I have always enjoyed doing things together and with our family. When our children were young we did a lot of camping and fishing. Even though our children are grown with families of their own we still love getting together as often as we can.

While taking a trip Danny and I stopped at a rest area and there in the parking lot were two beautiful red Honda Goldwings. We were admiring them when two couples came up to us and started talking. They were so friendly and answered the many questions we had about their motorcycles. We saw they were our age and we thought if they were having so much fun riding a motorcycle why couldn’t we. From that time on we dreamed of owning a Goldwing and touring the country. We bought our Goldwing in 1997 but I have to admit we did not ride it very much. In 2004 we started talking about converting it to a trike. We knew we were never going to enjoy riding like we intended when we bought it and needed to either trike it or sell it. It took us a while to make the decision to do it but in 2004 we had a Lehman conversion kit put on and we have never looked back. We enjoy riding by ourselves and with friends. We have ridden to many different states and seen so many beautiful sights. There is nothing like feeling the wind on your face and being a part of the nature all around you.

We joined the GWRRA when we bought the motorcycle in 1997 but knew very little about the GWRRA until we visited our local Chapter J in 2004 which we are proud to be a part of. You won’t meet a bunch of nicer people. Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge does sum up our Chapter, promoting rider education, safety, awareness and preparedness. We enjoy riding together, chapter meetings, GWRRA rallies. We have found that we have an extended family with our friends in Chapter J and the GWRRA. We all have something in common. WE LOVE TO RIDE.
