Mike began riding in the mid-1970s and over a 5-year period made several extended trips through Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming before selling his bike and starting a family. Darlene began riding with Chapter J members in about 1997, and she introduced Mike to the Chapter in 1998, and they've been GWRRA members since 1999.

Mike and Darlene live in Vidor, Texas and happily ride a black, "tastefully accessorized" 2001 GL1800 with approx. 47,500 plus miles on it as of this writing. Mike has served as Chapter J's Ride Coordinators for 2 years and has also served as Treasurer.
